Where do we go?
On calling, you will find out which practice is covering the out of hours that day and the branch to attend.
Highgate Vets carry out emergency and inpatient care at 173 Highgate. There is a map lower down this page for those unfamiliar with the area, including where to park.
Westmorland Vets see such cases at either their Natland Road, Kendal or Tithe Barn, Kirkby Lonsdale practices. The vet on duty will let you know which branch you need to attend.
In the vast majority of cases, it’s always best, safest and quickest to meet the vet at the surgery, rather than them coming to your home. This is because they will then have access to the full range of equipment and medications available to be able to provide the best care for your pet. Also, the vets have access to the medical records of patients registered at their own practice which can only be viewed from the surgery.
If you are unable to drive, there are multiple taxi companies who are happy to transport pets.
