I joined Highgate Vets in August 2005 to work as a receptionist during my gap year, before starting my degree in Zoology at the University of Leeds. Throughout my degree I returned during the holidays to cover support staff annual leave and I carried out an administrative role following graduation. In January 2011 I started the Level 3 Diploma in veterinary nursing at Myerscough College and became a registered veterinary nurse in August 2013.
In September 2016, I was promoted to practice manager and so I now work full time in the office and across both surgeries. I am responsible for the practice marketing, including online representation of the practice such as the website and Facebook page. I plan and co-ordinate practice promotions, create information packs and leaflets for clients and respond to the many emails we receive each day, plus much more. I am currently studing for a post-graduate Certificate in Veterinary Business Management through Liverpool University.
I live on a dairy farm with approximately 100 Holstein cows and calves and 4 free ranging hybrid hens. I enjoy helping on the farm, especially driving the quad bike and feeding the young calves. I have played the flute since I was 7 years old and am part of Flutes & Co, a Kendal-based flute choir with over 20 other flautists of all ages.
