I graduated from Keele University with Bsc (Hons) Geoscience in 2014, I loved studying for my degree but decided after attempting a PhD in the same field (where I luckily got to spend a lot of time in the Western USA) that carrying on in academia or the geoscience industry wasn’t for me.
I moved back home to the South Lakes and worked at a boutique hotel for a 18 months where I gained a variety of skills in a very diverse role. During this time I realised my only real passion other than geology was animals, especially dogs! I worked briefly at a doggy daycare facility before finding my place as an Animal Nursing Assistant at Highgate, with the hope to eventually train as a veterinary nurse here!
In my spare time I enjoy walking in the Lakes with friends and all the dogs in my life (Jack the Lab, Tia the Staffy cross and Rufus my ‘God Dog’ the Cocker). I like camping when I can and I have just got a mountain bike so hopefully I can say that too!
