I joined Highgate Veterinary Clinic in August 2010 as a newly qualified veterinary nurse after graduating from Myerscough College in April. I previously worked in a small animal practice in Morecambe for 4 years.
I now work part-time as I have two daughters. My day to day roles in the practice include monitoring anaesthetics in everything from small furries to Newfoundlands. I also care for in-patients; this includes taking them out for walks and giving them lots of fuss and cuddles. I also get involved in fixing the computer if/when the practice has a technical issue. My main areas of interest are Clinical Coaching, teaching students and weight watchers in pets.
At home I have a senior Labrador called Brook, who is very well behaved and keeps us active. I also have a family of guinea pigs, a senior tabby cat called Tinkerbell and a young black cat that was brought into the practice at 6 days old, who I hand-reared. All of these pets and my daughters keep me very busy at home.
